Home Remedies for Body Odor
Assuming you are using common sense and washing offending areas of the body often, we have some additional body freshening tips to share that should help to alleviate your body odors.
Drinking plenty of water is a must – it will help to flush out the toxins that are likely responsible for contributing to your problem.
Use antibacterial soaps and deodorants as part of your cleansing routine.
Apply powder containing baking soda to the affected areas in order to help keep dry.
Always wear cotton undergarments (including socks) since they absorb perspiration much better than synthetics.
Natural products such as apple cider vinegar, 3% hydrogen peroxide and witch hazel, can be applied to the underarms by using a spray bottle or sponge.
Alum is a deodorizing crystal that you have probably seen advertised in the back of various magazines or health stores. It has been around for what seems like forever, and has been used in Asia for hundreds of years. It is totally natural (mineral salts) and easy to use. All you do is rub the crystal on your damp underarms and a fine film will cover the area, which will go to work on the bacteria causing body odor.
Chlorophyll is a ‘natural deodorizer’ commonly used to help with bad breath and body odor. It is usually sold in tablet or liquid form at most health food stores.
An occasional steam bath or sauna will help to sweat out the toxins, which can aid in body odor control. If you suffer from hyperhidrosis, this may be the last thing that you feel like doing, but it has been known to work!
It is important to eliminate the possibility of the body odor being from a medical condition, so always check with your doctor before trying home remedies.
